I am sure you have seen the picture of the Virgin Mary under the overpass by now. Being curious, I checked it out and tried to make out the features. I found it did not become apparent to me right away. But what I did find was kind of surprising. First off, we have the original picture. I suppose most people expect the blog thing on the wall to be it without giving it much of a look over. You can click on the picture to view it up close and see what you can make out

I pulled out my handy copy of PSP, blew up the picture, and traced the visible features. What you see below is what I came up with. Obviously, you can now see my skepticism coming out. All I see is some type of alien. I know artists renditions of Mary vary, but I doubt the 3 eyed drooling version of Mary is an accepted standard. And what is that a French monster?? Look at that nose! If someone reports that the apparition talks to them I would full well expect them to hear "Bonjor mon ami".

I showed my coworker the demonstration of my spiritual intuitiveness. With his degree in Landscape architecture he quickly pointed out that I had it all wrong. I missed all the features completely! After a quick explanation of where there were, I still did not see it. So I stared and stared for 15 minutes, pulled my chair back 8feet. Put my face up and stared for 40 seconds and slowly pulled back. Nothing. Finally, he patiently pointed out the features again. I was like, oh that. Yeah, I see that. But it looked more like something on Ghost busters. We must not be seeing the same thing. So I traced out what I was seeing, and he said..Yep! That’s it! Needless to say, I wasn’t feeling very spiritual. So I continued my hunt to see if any other apparitions were in the picture that others may have missed.

BOY DID I FIND SOMETHING ELSE! What I saw can best be explained with "I see dead people". In the lower left you will see a very clear representation of a HUMAN SKULL! No straining to see it! On the lower right, I found many many more faces and skulls. Apparently what this really is, is an apparition of the catacombs and the big image I outlined above is really a rotten corpse coming to KILL US ALL!!!!

Since I now know this is really a warning that death is coming to kill us. I decided to look for bin laden. Within 30 seconds of looking I FOUND HIM! He is peaking over the death monsters head! You can clearly see the turban wrapped around his head with his eyes peeking out. His evil little smile is hidden behind the death monster. Isn’t it neat how art works? 1 person can look at it and see the Virgin Mary, while others can stare intently and see the catacombs with a death monster coming out with a prized skull tied to its loins with Bin Laden hiding behind it.
