Ahhh! My senior prom! Good to look back and reflect! I read and remember that I had this big crush for some girl named Brandy. Also, not 100% sure what the deal with "not telling Amber" is. Haha, don't make fun of me for going to my senior prom with a sophomore!!! ;) When you have the looks that I have, you've got to take what you can get! Written to my friends Sarah, Matthew, Clinton, and Allison.
Subject: Prom
Date: Mon, 15 May 2000
Prom was awesome. Lauren was awesome. First of all, I went to pick her up at her house but I went to the wrong house. I read the address wrong. I knocked on the door and this guy answered and just looked at me. I said "Is this Lauren's house?" He said, "Sure isn't. No date here!"
I walked back to the Montero Sport stunned. I kept looking back waiting for Lauren to poke her head out the door and say it was a joke. I sat in the car and tried to call her number but the car phone wouldn't work. I drove off and was going to drive to a grocery store but realized I didn't have any change to call anyway. I looked at the directions again and realized I read the wrong address =0)!! I turned back around and went back to her house. Her mom answered the door and welcomed me in. Lauren walked out IN BRANDY'S HOMECOMING DRESS!!!! I thought "dang." Lauren looked better in it though =0). Brandy had lent her the dress for the evening. When I found that out, I almost got mad but then I realized neither Brandy nor Lauren knew about my crush on Brandy and it wasn't a cruel joke by them so I was ok.
Her mom took a few pictures of us by the fireplace and then she grabbed her stuff and we headed off to picture pallor to take pictures. My buddy Chris Friloux was in the parking lot and I showed him the cool car alarm on the 2000 Montero Sport XLS. I love that thing. We took pictures and got this wine glass thing because I got the big package with 80 wallets and I gave her the glass because I would be getting one later. She also got a rose from them. We headed over to the Civic Center with Chris following us. Chris blew his horn and laughed just because I didn't see the "no u-turn" sign!
Lauren and I were the first ones to Prom. We drove around the Civic Center once then I parked and we went in. We found our seats then we decided to explore the Civic Center and snuck backstage to a dance rehearsal =0). We saw a janitor coming and ran back to our side of the Center. Before that, we were tempted to go on stage and dance. Lauren said she used to dance and I said "Well let's go up there and dance" and she said "okay" then we just looked at each other waiting for the other to move. Neither of us did; then the janitor walked by. We both ate steak at prom and I wanted to kill Sarah Stage's date because he kept flirting with Lauren but I let it slide.
I loved it when Lauren asked me if she could go do something. She would say "Can I go to the bathroom with Cheri?" or "Can I go talk to Amanda?" Of course I said yeah =0). After Prom, we walked the 8.10 miles to the Montero were I had parked so that no other cars would hit it but I was regretting it now. We drove back to the civic center and I got directions to Amy's house.
Lauren wanted to go to Bev's party so we stopped by and "made an appearance." We walked in and they were playing a bunch of fast songs and Lauren meet up with her fried Christina and they started talking so I went and sat down. Jason K. came up and asked if I would take him for a ride in the Montero. I said sure if Lauren didn't mind. She didn't, I drove all the way around town then back to Bev's house. I walked in and a slow song was playing and I was about to ask Lauren to dance but she said she was ready to go to Amy's house. We drove over to Amy's (not THE Amy) house and I'll tell ya I never meet a girl that asked so many questions. Pretty silly questions like "are you going to miss key club" and "why do you have to drive on your senior trip" and...well, those are good questions, but she did ask some silly ones, I just don't remember what they were. We got to Amy's and we walked on in. Amy has an AWESOME house! I want to live there and told her so a few times. I talked to Nick and Jason B. for a while and Lauren asked me if she could go talk out on the patio =0). I told her no and she went anyway =0).
Lauren then came and got me because she needed my keys so she could get her swimming suit so she could swim for a while =0D!! I went back to the car and got a change of cloths for me too. I put on some blue jeans and a Peyton Manning jersey and then got the video camera and got some footage of everyone. I meet Lauren's friend Amanda who was going with Jason B. and she needed a ride home because Jason's brother didn't feel like leaving the party to bring her home. Since Lauren had to be home at 12:30 anyway, I said I would bring her. At 12, we left Amy's party and I drove them both home. We sang to the music and we all told horror stories from previous dates. I only had one date to talk about but it was bad enough for them to both tell me that the best people always get trashed and they said I was sweet for not wanting to leave Kayla and talk to Danion but she wasn't nice at all for leaving me. Lauren said I was sweet =0). So, I dropped Amanda off and Lauren was freaking out, nearly pushed her out the car because it was 12:27. Lauren then told me to hit the dog because it was mean and Amanda told me not to. I didn't. I drove Lauren back home and we had a great time. I pulled up to her door, well, to her house, and jumped out the car. I sort of wanted to run around and open her door for her but she opened it herself. I then grabbed her dress because she was still in her bathing suit (wearing a tee shirt over it) and walked her in and meet her brother. She gave me a hug and I thanked her for going and we said our goodbyes. I haven't been able to stop thinking about her. I mean, I don't know if she had that great a time as I make it sound to be, but I hope she did. I don't know what my problem is.
Well, that was my date with the best looking girl in 10th grade (after I saw her in that dress I moved her up. Those other girls can't even compare). I'm going to pick up the pictures Monday then go back to school =0(, clean out my locker, give a speech for Ms. Aphro the insane English teacher, and give Lauren her pictures and her program that she left in my car with a little note I wrote her inside it. Then I guess I'll just chill out at school and wait for Carrie to get out. I'll go work on the yearbook a little maybe, chill in the P.E. Class (with Lauren =0)). Well, don't tell Amber about anything. I don't even think I told her about me having a date so I don't want you guys telling her how much fun I had. I'm going to tell her next time I see her.
